About this School
Muhlenberg College is a private liberal arts college founded in 1848. It is located on a small campus in the west end of Allentown, Pennsylvania, in the United States. Muhlenberg employs nearly 200 full-time faculty members. It is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, but has a religiously diverse student body. The College has approximately 2100 full-time students and is particularly well known for its English, psychology, science, and theatre/dance programs. The College's name honors Henry Muhlenberg, patriarch of the Lutheran Church in America. Muhlenberg is one of two four-year colleges located in Allentown. Cedar Crest College, a liberal arts college for women, also is located there. The College was also the site for the filming of the 1998 documentary Frat House. It has four fraternities and four sororities. The College's independently-run student publication is The Muhlenberg Advocate.
