About this School
Point Park University (formerly Point Park College) is a liberal arts university located in downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was founded in 1960, and has about 3,200 undergraduate students. Point Park University is on the semester system and has four schools: Arts & Sciences, Business, The Conservatory Of Performing Arts, and The Adult & Professional Studies Program. It is also home of the Innocence Institute, which was founded by its director Bill Moushey to investigate and challenge possible wrongful criminal convictions so that they might be overturned in the interest of justice. Point Park University changed its name from Point Park College in 2004 to reflect that a large number of graduate programs are offered. The student newspaper is called 'The Globe'. Point Park University also hosts the ever famous old-timey radio show The Globe: In Stereo which is a production in conjunction with the radio station, WPPJ, and the newspaper, The Globe.
