Program Description
The Graduate School offers a certificate in Political Economy to graduate students in the departments of Economics and Political Science who successfully complete a series of five courses designed to provide interdisciplinary training. Economics students should take one core Political Economy applications course in Political Science, two applied courses, and two courses relevant to their specialization in Economics. Poltical Science students should take a core course in Economics and four other courses in their specialization, some two of which must be graded courses in Economics. Areas of specialization include: individual and social choice; normative political theory and the history of economic thought; and governments and markets.
