Worcester State College is a public, 4-year college founded in 1874 as Worcester Normal School in the city of Worcester, Massachusetts. Although WSC traditionally has an emphasis on education, business, and biotechnology, the College now offers Bachelors and Masters degrees in over 20 academic disciplines. It is located at 486 Chandler Street. Janelle C. Ashley, Ph.D is the tenth president and the first female president of the College. The baseball team, coached by Dr. Dirk Baker, won the MASCAC Tournament in 2002 and 2005 and represented the conference in the NCAA Division III Championships.
