Medical Assistants are multi-skilled practitioners who perform a wide range of clinical and administrative tasks in physicians’ offices and other health care settings. This CAAHEP accredited program offers students the opportunity to earn an Associate of Science degree Medical Assisting. Graduates of either option are eligible to sit for the American Association of Medical Assistant’s national certification examination. The Eastern New Mexico University - Roswell Campus Medical Assisting
Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.

Mandatory drug screening is required during the first week of the program and will be scheduled by the Division of Health faculty. Students must pass the mandatory drug screening to remain in the program. Students exhibiting signs of impaired clinical judgment related to suspected use of chemical substances, legal or otherwise, will be removed from the classroom, laboratory, or clinical setting immediately. At that time, the instructor will implement steps according to the Division of Health Policy for Student Suspected Impairment.
