The Athletic Training degree program is a Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) accredited undergraduate program based on a minimum of 126 s.h.: 42 s.h. of foundations curriculum courses, 70 s.h. in the major area, and elective hours which can result in an approved minor or prepare one for further graduate study in an allied health profession such as physical therapy or a physician assistant program. Upon successful completion of this degree, the student will be eligible to sit for the Board of Certification exam. There is a strong clinical aspect of the program involving a minimum of 800 supervised hours under a certified athletic trainer.
