The International Economics and Development program provides a basic understanding of the theoretical foundations and tools of economic analysis, enabling students to gain competence in economic theory and its uses. The program exposes students to a variety of areas of economic study through course work, independent study and research. In addition, this program prepares students for technical careers (e.g. research and/or consulting for government and private business) in the fields of international economics and economic development.
