Introduction
The biological science majors at Florida Tech offer challenging course work and dynamic fieldwork opportunities, giving tomorrow's researchers, physicians and educators the chance to make a difference today. Students explore local ecosystems, collaborate with faculty on innovative research and gain experience through a variety of engaging internships. Here, we live the life sciences. The molecular biology option provides training in DNA and protein purification, recombinant DNA technology, gene manipulation, PCR, nucleic acid hypridization, DNA sequence analysis, gene expression assays and genomics. Students completing the program are qualified for employment in the rapidly growing biotechnology industry and for entry into graduate study in a wide variety of areas encompassed by molecular biology.
