Many of us have had some extra time on our hands lately. With the COVID-19 pandemic, many of the things we did after work or on the weekends are canceled or postponed. From the baseball season to golf to dance competitions and more, anything done in a large group setting has been set to the wayside, leaving us with a little more time to focus on other things.
One of those things you want to consider is upgrading and learning new skills. There are many options for those who want to learn a new skill, whether it is a computer program, photography, writing, or brush up on an ever-changing one. Where do you start?
Learn With Udemy
Udemy is one of the most well-known online course platforms. They offer lifetime access to the course you choose as well, which is a great benefit to those who want to learn on their own schedule. They have courses from as low as $49.99, such as iPhone Photography, Instagram Marketing, Life Coach Certification, a variety of IT and software programs, and more. Pretty much anything you can think of is taught on this platform, and you can move through the course as you are able, or even go back to the course later if you need to.
Learn With Skillshare
Skillshare offers a variety of courses in both free and paid membership options. They have a 14-day trial, which allows you to take as many courses as possible for this length of time. You can then join the Premium plan for $15 per month (paid by the month) or $8.25 per month (if you pay for it annually). Some of the more exciting courses they offer are productivity courses, digital poster design, Instagram, writing, animation, interior design, and more.
Learn With Lynda

They offer a free month trial, and after your trial month, offer a monthly membership for $29.99/month if you pay by the month or $19.99/month if you pay annually. Courses they offer include programming courses, Effective Listening, Graphic Design Tips & Tricks, photography, and online marketing.
Learn With Coursera
Coursera collaborates with several different colleges & universities to offer a variety of courses. You can get a certification or a degree in Coursera in many different areas, including business, computer science, data science, language learning, etc. This is a great way to add additional skills to your repertoire for that promotion at work or career change. They offer some free courses, as well as paid courses through different places of higher learning.
No matter where you are in your life, it is time to level up your skills. By learning a new skill, you become more marketable to other companies, and you become more valuable to the one you are working for right now. Use your time wisely and learn the skills you need to make you a big success.
