A bachelor’s degree will grant you incredible career opportunities. In fact, in communication and media, most positions only require you to have a bachelor’s degree at the entry and mid-level. For example, you can pursue a bachelor’s degree in communication studies, mass communications, journalism, advertising, public relations, graphic design, digital arts, and media production. Or, you can major in communications and minor in one or more of these areas.
Your ideal position may require a master’s degree. Study any of the listed bachelor’s programs at the master’s level to strengthen your communication skills and industry knowledge. Or, further specialize by getting a degree or concentration in areas like arts or sports journalism, global communication, strategic public relations, communication and advocacy, or digital marketing.
Not surprisingly, you’ll spend a lot of time honing your communication skills. You’ll develop print and web writing skills by writing reports and blogs, public speaking skills by presenting, and interpersonal skills by engaging in class discussions.
