Over 7,200 students choose to live on the College Station campus, which is in an urban setting that spans 5,200 acres. Students can live in traditional residence halls or university-owned apartments. In addition to choosing a residence that makes them feel comfortable among their peers, students take advantage of the learning opportunities that the school’s Department of Residence Life bring to their living quarters. For example, Hullabaloo Hall hosts the “Dinner with a Prof” events, where students are able to have a casual, open dialogue with faculty members in front of the building’s fireplace. College Station also offers tutoring opportunities in residence halls to give students extra help in subjects like political science, math, chemistry, and history.

1 Answer
Answered by: Universities.com

Over the years, Texas A&M University graduates have gone on to make significant strides in academic disciplines. For example, the school has minted Nobel Prize winners in chemistry (Derek Barton, 1969; Dudley R. Herschbach, 1986; Robert H. Grubbs, 1995), physics (David Lee, 1996; Sheldon Lee Glashow 1979), and economics (Vernon L. Smith, 2002). In addition, A&M’s schools are making contributions to their respective disciplines. The College of Architecture set forth the Hurricane Katrina initiative, which includes faculty members’ white papers that address natural disaster preparedness. The Mays Business School publishes the quarterly “Business Research in Action,” an up-to-date report of the studies being conducted by the school’s various business centers (Center for International Business Studies, Center for Retailing Studies, the Center for Human Resource Management, the Real Estate Center, and the Center for New Ventures and Entrepreneurship). The Baylor College of Dentistry received a grant from the National Institutes of Health's National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research that has allowed the school to incorporate clinical research into its curriculum.
