It's a commuter school so not much social life on campus, but everyone takes their studies seriously.

History, Class of 2009
it's pretty interesting giving diverse SF culture; many many student organizations, but relatively not developed fraternity culture

BA Social Work, Class of 1978
Diversified, friendly. SW program was small so you ran into the same groups of people

Alumni
English/Creative Writing, Class of 1990
At that time, SFSU was considered a "commuter school" for people who were older than normal college age. Not very many people lived on campus -- there wasn't much of a campus culture in that sense. There was a big racial and ethnic variety, and a wide age range. Political awareness and involvement. This was a long time ago.

I have no idea now. They've remodeled and expanded everything since I was there. When I was there, not everyone used a computer -- a lot of people still used a typewriter.
