WOMEN IN STEM Scholarship

As a technology company, Universities.com sees firsthand the shortage of female engineering talent and the shortage of women in technology. We want to do our part in supporting women who are pursuing a science, technology, engineering, math (STEM) degree by establishing the Universities.com Women in STEM scholarship, an annual $2,000.00 scholarship that will be awarded to a woman who best conveys the reason why pursuing a degree in science, technology, engineering or math is important to them.

Overview

  • A $2,000 annual scholarship to a qualified woman who is pursuing an associate, bachelor’s, graduate, or professional degree at an accredited college or university. The scholarship is available to women who best describe why a STEM education is important to them.
  • Must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher (over the last two years).
  • This is a scholarship that will be awarded annually on November 15th, with an application deadline of midnight November 1st (California time.)

Eligibility

The Women in STEM Scholarship is open to qualified women who are pursuing an associate, bachelor’s, graduate, or professional degree at an accredited college or university, and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher (over the last two years). Entrant must be a legal resident of the United States, or an International student with a valid visa, and be eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time Entrant submits her application. Students are responsible for verifying their eligibility.

How to Enter

To apply for the scholarship please send an email to scholarship@universities.com telling us in 250-300 words why a STEM education is important to you. Please include your Name, Address, Phone Number, Email Address, Date of Birth, and the Name of your Current School. Remember, if we don’t receive all requested information then your submission may be disqualified.

Deadline

The deadline to apply for the Scholarship is midnight (PST) on November 1, 2017.

Selection Process and Notification

Applicants will be judged on how well they communicate why a STEM education is important to them. The recipients will be selected by Universities.com based on application materials provided. Potential Scholarship recipients will be notified of the committee’s decision by November 15th. Payment will be made to the recipient’s school directly, upon notification and in accordance with the school’s scholarship guidelines, and must be used for educational expenses, including: tuition, fees, books, supplies, or to repayment of outstanding student loans.

Additional Details/Rules

Winner must provide proof of GPA and enrollment from an accredited university or college, in the form of an official transcript or signed letter from faculty on official letterhead. Applicant will need to accept the terms and conditions of the Universities.com scholarship application.
