n/a - these questions are poorly framed. I graduated 19 years ago, so asking these questions in the present tense just confuses this.
What letter grade would you give the students/culture at your school?
Based on 10 ReviewsAmbitious, politically oriented students who are excited to be in the nation's capital and anticipate an ability to make significant change in our society. Smart, dedicated student body, actively engaged in current events and international affairs.
Very diverse, students from around the world.
again, I was there 19 years ago.
AU is very competitive and demands a strong commitment to community service and global citizenship. Most students are very committed to this mentality during their time at AU.
What letter grade would you give the facilities at your school.
Based on 10 ReviewsAt the time, they were fairly up to date. However, that was years ago. I have not been a student for a long time.
It's been 15 years, so it would be unfair for me to state.
AU dorms are well maintained and comfortable to live in. My dorm was particularly nice during my studies as it was renovated right before my freshman year. The dining hall has many options for all different kinds of dietary habits (vegetarian, gluten-free, kosher, etc.). Most classrooms are well equipped for courses, but I did find that several were lacking in technology integration while I was there (ex. Smart Boards, decent projectors, etc.). The campus is extraordinarily beautiful and is a designated arboretum.
What overall letter grade would you give the activities/groups at your school?
Based on 10 ReviewsA great deal of international / policy related events
I don't remember - I graduated 33 years ago.
Again, much has changed in the 15 years since I attended.
AU has a strong culture of community service and social justice. Many students take part in national days of community service and Alternative Breaks. Additionally, AU emphasizes the importance of experiencing the culture of DC, so most students also have at least one or two high-profile internships during their time in Washington.
