    At the time, it was a private Baptist college. The music programs offered were some of the best in the country and it was very difficult to get in. The students were all extremely hard working.

    In 1979 they were all pretty old. The entire university has almost been rebuilt since I attended.

    Christmas at Belmont is a nationally televised event every year. The basketball team is one of the best in the country. Plays, operas, musicals as well as nationally-known vocal and instrumental groups are scheduled frequently.
