Career Preparation

What letter grade would you give your school on how well it prepares students for a career in the real world?

3.9285714285714 Based on 14 Reviews
  • Alumni
    Civil Engineering, Class of 1979

Good basic fundamental knowledge of engineering principles

    4 Rated January 2016
  • Alumni
    Political Science, Class of 1994

I'm sure there are more systems in place now than there were 20 years ago. Then, I joined academic clubs, societies, and had a close group of friends with wide nets into the business and political worlds. It was much more personal in those days. The curriculum was excellent - broad and deep, as focused as a student might want. The faculty was excellent as well. The administrative and academic staff with whom I interacted, were also highly qualified and dedicated to student success. It was a great experience.

    5 Rated January 2016
  • Alumni
Masters of Urban Planning, Design and Development, Class of 2009

job and career services, job postings, lectures by professionals in the field, real-life projects

    4 Rated January 2016
  • Alumni
    Mechanical Engineering, Class of 1996

Many courses are designed based and taught by professors from industry rather that academia

What letter grade would you give the students/culture at your school?

3.7857142857143 Based on 14 Reviews

Where I live, the students are generally rural families.

    4 Rated January 2016
  • Alumni
    Political Science, Class of 1994

Widely diverse student population. It was a commuter campus, so defining a single culture would be nearly impossible for me. Many of the people I graduated with had stories much like my own: we worked full time and went to school at night. I suppose it was a 'hard-working, dedicated' culture

    5 Rated January 2016
  • Alumni
Masters of Urban Planning, Design and Development, Class of 2009

upbeat, interesting, willing to learn, modern, creative

    5 Rated January 2016

School was a commuter school, not much school life

    3 Rated January 2016

Africentric. Very uncomfortable if not a person of color.
