Intense study in the language at all times including meals, dorm life, sports, musical events, etc.

    5 Rated January 2016
  • Alumni
    Geology, Class of 2005

We had a career services office, which provided guidance on resume-writing, interviewing, etc.

    3 Rated January 2016
  • Alumni
    Mathematics, Class of 2011

Middlebury turned me into an inquisitive, constant learner who doesn't necessarily crave constant feedback. Midd taught me how to problem solve.

    5 Rated January 2016
  • Alumni
B.A. in Neuroscience, Class of 2007

online alum network, career services, grad school application seminars

Students and Culture

What letter grade would you give the students/culture at your school?

4 Based on 5 Reviews
  • Alumni
    M.A., Class of 2000

Middlebury's student population is liberal, yet the professors are somewhat culturally insensitive.

    4 Rated January 2016
  • Alumni
    Geology, Class of 2005

It was a very narrow window on society--largely white and affluent. Although the quality of instruction was excellent, I missed out on the diversity of culture and thought that exists in the real world.

    3 Rated January 2016
  • Alumni
    Mathematics, Class of 2011

Open-minded, inquisitive, not competition, communal, kind

    5 Rated January 2016
  • Alumni
B.A. in Neuroscience, Class of 2007

preppy, mostly new englanders, mostly white but with some diversity. a lot of athletes.

Facilities were very good; meals were excellent in the dining hall. However, I once had a roommate for a while because she saw a mouse in her dorm room.

  • Alumni
    Mathematics, Class of 2011

Excellent (they'd better be, for the price tag). The only thing that might be lacking (not that I'd know) is the science labs, only because we're not a research university.

    5 Rated January 2016
  • Alumni
B.A. in Neuroscience, Class of 2007

a lot of computers available for student use. dorms are varied, but there are nice options for seniors. great food in the dining halls. classrooms are modern and high-tech
