English and Music (Double Major), Class of 2009

There was a fairly robust (but, in my opinion, underutilized) career center. There is a network of alumns who students can contact regarding various fields (i.e. if you think you want to go to law school you can contact an alumn in the network and talk to them about their career).

Rated January 2016
Alumni
BA Government , Class of 2007

Skidmore provided students with the study and organizational skills necessary to operate in the professional environment or continue on to graduate school. Within the depts. there were opportunities for internships according to major and other networking.

Students and Culture
What letter grade would you give the students/culture at your school?
Based on 7 Reviews
Alumni
English, Class of 2009

Open-minded, strong willingness to learn and better themselves as citizens of the world, fairly liberal, definitely not traditional

Rated January 2016
Alumni
English and Music (Double Major), Class of 2009

Pretty diverse - there were students of varied races, socioeconomic statuses, etc. and many student groups to reflect this (clubs, music groups, sports, etc.).

Rated January 2016

Liberal Arts college with a diverse group of students from artists to scientists. People who enjoyed having fun but were serious students

All were great. Had ample access to computers, classrooms were in good shape, dorms and apartments good, dining hall excellent

English and Music (Double Major), Class of 2009

Great! They renovated the dining hall my second year and it's beautiful (and lots of good food!). The dorms are also nice compared to others - spacious and also many recently-renovated.

A cappella groups, outing club (hiking, rock climbing, etc)

Rated January 2016

English, Class of 2009

A capella groups were as popular as Greek life is at other schools. Drama and the arts are all popular, unsurprisingly. Sports were also a focus for many students, though not like in a Division 1 school.

Alumni
English and Music (Double Major), Class of 2009

Not unique anymore but there are many a capella groups on campus.
