CURRICULUM FOCUS
The University of Texas at San Antonio Business Program
UDC Contributor

If you choose University of Texas at San Antonio’s (UTSA) Cyber Security Program your schedule will include classes from the College of Business, College of Engineering and College of Science. This integrated approach has scored the school recognition as one of the top cyber security programs in the nation. UTSA’s College of Business is also recognized as a top school for Hispanic business students. Its international reach make sense considering the school’s strong focus on teaching students about themselves, which helps them discover how they fit into varying company and country cultures. Some students even put their international communication skills into action during intensive 10-12-day immersion study visits to countries like India, China, and Russia. Housed inside UTSA’s College of Business is the Center for Student Professional Development. Academic theory is put into practice and students develop a balanced portfolio in three areas: situational etiquette and professionalism, industry and career awareness, and leadership and professional development. The result — the skills and experience need to land a career after college.

MBA, Concentration: Management of Technology, Class of 2004

U My favorite project was a group project we had with a local startup, where we worked as a team to really understand the industry, provide a business plan, and spent time with the owners before we presented our results. This immersive experience was fun and exciting, and furthered my passion for technology.

English, Class of 1995

U I was an English major and felt very lucky that my teachers were very hands on and willing to stay after or come in early to assist with my work. I was part of the English Honor’s society Sigma Tau Delta and we had authors visit and give presentations. Richard Russo who wrote Nobody’s Fool came to our school which was amazing.

General Business, Class of 2004

U I really enjoyed Statistics. Professor Keating was the most entertaining guy and he had the greatest attitude. I can't think of a subject duller than stats and I actually looked forward to going to the class. He was quite popular on campus, known for being a stellar professor. I emailed him years after graduation to thank him, and I know he didn't remember me, but he took the time to respond to the message. I hope he still teaches there.
