Innovators wanted. Sitting atop a hill in the middle of America’s Finest City, the College of Business Administration at San Diego State University (SDSU) connects students with real business opportunities abounding from the coasts of La Jolla to the back roads of San Pasqual, and beyond through study abroad. This public university aims to inspire entrepreneurship and innovation that transcends borders, preparing students to lead in the modern, globalized marketplace. SDSU’s College of Business is one of America's oldest and largest AACSB-accredited business schools. Business is the most popular division at SDSU, producing 18 percent of 2013’s graduating class. Undergraduate specializations include accounting, finance, real estate, information systems, management, and marketing. Named one of America's Most Entrepreneurial Universities by Forbes in 2014, SDSU has a nearly 60-year tradition of transforming students into business leaders. Its Lavin Entrepreneurship Center, for example, organizes business plan competitions and connects students with paid internships, and the Wells Fargo Financial Markets Laboratory allows students to study real-time economic data.
Supported by a large military city that is always looking for new and improved ways to serve justice, SDSU’s Criminal Justice program is one of the most formidable pathways to success laid out for Aztecs. Law enforcement programs are among the school’s top fields of study, with 6% of all graduates coming from related majors including Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, Law Enforcement, and Firefighting. Housed in SDSU’s School of Public Affairs, the Criminal Justice program prepares students for public-sector careers in law, policing, crime control, and criminal justice policy. The program offers prison tours and an honor society. It also requires internships, guiding students to see and understand the real-world applications of theories they learn in class.
The Criminal Justice program at SDSU has many wonderful teachers who spent actual time working in the field they are teaching about...Students can see for themselves that what they are learning is actually applicable to how the criminal justice system in the U.S. works. With a better understanding of the system, they can better understand what they want to do for their career and how they can contribute. It's easy to do well in school and be enthusiastic about what you're studying when you live and work in an amazing city like San Diego...Spending Saturdays at the Q watching our bowl-winning SDSU Aztec football team is a must...If you're looking for an amazing town with perfect weather, a fun and interactive campus, and a student base that plays as hard as it studies...SDSU has all that and more!
SDSU is known for the two B's, business and basketball! Oh, and not to mention being located in America's Finest City. San Diego State's business program is phenomenal for a state school. The department requires you to work with real businesses and get hands-on experience you wouldn't get other places. Though challenging, the projects assigned are what help students gain experience in the business world and get jobs. We have so many fantastic staff who work hard to prepare students for the real world and get us jobs, it's a beautiful campus, and alumni are proud to be Aztecs.
